Adeleke Summons Contractors Involved In Osun Water Treatment

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has summoned all the parties involved in the 65 million dollar loan secured for the construction of water treatment plant in the state.

Adeleke also seekw to provide a position letter that comprises Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), detailing the term and conditions of the project for necessary action on its continuity.

The project is being facilitated by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

The Governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi stated this while playing host to the representative of Islamic Development Bank led by operation Team Leader, Javed Khan.

"There is no clear position on this project embarked upon by the previous administration, which was meant for the construction of water treatment plant, 17 kilometres transmission line from Kajola to Ilesa, and to boost pumping station and three water reservoirs on the hill," he observed.

"It is a known fact that healthy living can only be achieved with having adequate access to potable water supply and this is one of the priorities of this administration, especially in reaching out to rural and urban areas of the State and make sure they are adequately supplied with portable and drinkable water."

In making sure this is achieved, Adeleke said there is need to provide clarification as well as an update on the the project. 

Earlier, Operation Team Leader for Islamic Development Bank, Javed Khan thanked Adeleke for his kind gesture towards their reception and promised to meet the request of the Governor on the provision of MoU on the involvement of all the parties concerned in the project.
