Adoration Members Attack Priest Sent To Replace Mbaka

Adoration Members Attack Priest Sent To Replace Mbaka

Members of the Adoration Ministry have reportedly attacked a priest sent by the Catholic Church to replace its founder, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka on Sunday.

The adoration ground which was closed by the Bishop of Enugu Diocese of the Catholic Church, Callistus Onaga three months ago over doctrinal issues against Mbaka was reopened on Sunday.

A large crowd of adoration faithful had gathered at the prayer ground to receive the priest not knowing that there was a plan to replace him with another priest.

It was learnt that Mbaka had barely introduced the priest that the crowd surged towards the altar to mob the new priest.

The priest who was identified as Fr. Anthony Amadi was whisked away before the crowd could get to him.

The latest incident could be a pointer to another round of crisis between the leadership of the diocese and the Adoration ministry.
