AFCON 2022: Ahmed Musa Leaves Camp, To Rejoin Super Eagles In Cameroon

AFCON 2022: Ahmed Musa Leaves Camp, To Rejoin Super Eagles I

Ahmed Musa Leave Super Eagles Camp

Super Eagles will travel to Cameroon without skipper Ahmed Musa after the Nigerian forward lost a family member.

He was granted permission to leave and rejoin the team in Cameroon which could mean he would miss the opening game against Egypt on Tuesday.

The 28-year old has the trophy already in his cabinet -- being part of the Super Eagles team that won the trophy in 2013 under late Stephen Keshi.

Another forward who could miss the tournament totally Odion Ighalo following the refusal of his Saudi Arabian club, Al-Shabab, to sanction his release.

A clause in his contract with the club indicated that he was no longer active internationally for Nigeria, was now preventing him from participating at the tournament.

Ighalo joined the Saudi club from Manchester United in England at the end of his contract with the English side.

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr recalled him in November after announcing his retirement earlier and being away from the team for over two years

His recalled brought criticism on German tactician as he was expected to have given attention to younger strikers like Emmanuel Dennis, Ademola Lookman instead of the 32-year old Ighalo.
