Algeria has secured their place in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 finals with a lacklustre 1-0 win against Niger at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Tunis on Monday.

Baghdad Bounedjah's early goal gave the Desert Warriors the lead, but they struggled to maintain their momentum, and the Menas posed a late threat to their win.

Nonetheless, Algeria survived the scare and maintained their 100% record in Group F of the qualifying stage. They are now eight points ahead of Tanzania, who will face Uganda on Tuesday.

Despite the changes made by Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi, Niger remained third in the group with just two points from their opening four matches. The Menas will need a miraculous recovery in their remaining qualifying matches to keep their qualification hopes alive.
