AFCON: DR Congo shares spoils with former Champions Zambia

DR Congo and Zambia shared the spoils as it finished 1-1 apiece between both sides in the AFCON opening contest on Wednesday night.

Both teams were aiming for three points after Morocco pummeled Tanzania 3-0 in the first match. However, it was not to be as it ended in a 1-1 draw.

Zambia took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a goal from Kings Kangwa. He was assisted by star forward Patson Daka.

But the DR Congo side equalized four minutes later to make it 1-1. Yoana Wissa brought the DRC side back on level terms aftermath of an assist from striker Cedric Bakambu.

Both sides were booked with Zambia's Emmanuel Banda in the 55th minute and DR Congo's Gedeon Kalulu in the 90th minute of the match.
