AFCON: Tanzania, DR Congo share point, advance to knockout s

Tanzania and DR Congo earned a point each when they clashed as sides came into the last group match looking to seal their AFCON fate with a possible win on Wednesday night.

Both teams finished the game in a stalemate as DR Congo had more to play coming into the match with 2 points against a single point Tanzania had to their credit.

A draw in the match sees the DR Congo side with the likes of Olympic Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba and Galatasaray tar forward Cedric Bakambu advancing to the knockout round which commences this weekend.

Following the several attempts both teams (Tanzania and DR Congo) had in the game, I didn't yield a fortune in terms of goals.

Congo took the draw into the next round despite not earning the win they feel they should have gotten in this match.

The goalless (0-0) draw with Tanzania sees DR Congo finish in second position behind Group F winners Morocco just as Zambia and Tanzania crashed out of the competition in agony along with notable sides like Tunisia, Algeria and West African giants Ghana.
