As the one-year anniversary of the Taliban regime gets closer, women mounted the streets to protest the restrictions imposed on their rights to education, work and freedom of movement.
On Saturday, the Taliban forces dispersed a group of protesting women who were marching in the streets of Kabul.
Reports showed Taliban forces firing warning shots and physically assaulting the women to disperse their gathering.
One of the protesters was reported by the Daily Sabah as saying; "We are inside a drugstore, they have imprisoned us here."
During the protests, the protesters also chanted that they are tired of the discrimination against women.
Since returning to power in August 2021, the Taliban have curtailed basic women's rights and those who have protested have been suppressed.
After seizing power last year, many restrictions have already been imposed on women.
Tens of thousands of girls have been shut out of secondary schools, while women have been barred from returning to many government jobs.
Women have also been banned from travelling alone on long trips and can only visit public gardens and parks in the capital on days separate from men.
