Talibans in Afghanistan have prevented women without male guardians from boarding planes.
Afghanistan's Taliban recorded another controversial practice by blocking unaccompanied women from boarding flights, days after banning girls from schools.
Two Afghan airline officials who spoke on condition of anonymity told the Associated Press (AP) on Saturday; "Dozens of women who arrived at Kabul Hamid Karzai International Airport to board domestic and international flights were told they couldn't do so without a male guardian."
Some of the women were dual nationals returning to their homes overseas, including some from Canada, this is according to one of the officials.
The women were denied boarding on flights to Islamabad, Dubai and Turkey on Kam Air and the state-owned Ariana Airline, said the officials.
Since taking power last August, the Taliban leadership have showed powers of oppression as Afghanistan women and girls have been targeted.
This latest assault on women's right comes just days after the government broke its promise to allow girls to return to school after the sixth grade.
