Africa's Commercial Capital Set to Host 5th Ghana Internatio

Accra, Africa's commercial capital, will on July 27th host the 5th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC).

The conference will be on the theme: Facilitating Trade and Trade Finance in AfCFTA; The Role of the Financial Services Sector and the sub-theme is: Creating an Enabling Macroeconomic Environment in AfCFTA; The Role of the Central Banks in Africa.

Ghana's Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawunia will open the 1-day conference with a Keynote Address under the conference theme; Facilitating Trade and Trade-Finance in AfCFTA; The Role of the Financial Services Sector on behalf of H.E the President of Ghana per a response letter from the Presidency dated 14th June 2021.

Another key speaker will be H.E Albert M. Muchanga, African Union Commissioner for Trade, Industry, and Mining who will deliver a Special Address on behalf of the African Union.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr. Selassi Koffi Ackom, Chief Executive Officer – GITFiC said this year's conference which will take place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra would discuss everything within the Pan-African payment and settlements system.

The statement noted that some of the concerns were cross-border payment, single currency and issues of delay, blockchain technology, Digital Currency, Currency Convertibility aside from the US Dollar, Monetary Policy/Price Levels, Financial Sector Regulation and Reforms amongst a tall list of other important measures.

It was however stated that due to COVID-19 protocols currently in place, the conference will only admit 200 Participants and that attendance is strictly by invitation.

The targeted audience includes; Banks, Insurance Practitioners & Insurance Companies, Savings & Loans Companies, Micro-Finance Institutions, Finance Houses, Leasing Companies, Finance & Leasing Companies, Mortgage Finance Companies, Representative Offices in Ghana, Remittance Companies, Financial NGOs, Forex Bureau Companies, Rural and Community Banks, Micro Credit & Loans Schemes, Accountants & Accounting Firms, Chief Finance Officers, Finance Directors& Finance Officers, Trade Finance Firms, Multimodal Logistics Firms, Legal Firms & Legal Practitioners.
