AFRIMA 2023: Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid Emerge Winners

Nigerian superstars Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid have emerged as winners in the 2023 AFRIMA Awards which took place in Dakar, Senegal on Sunday night.

The self-proclaimed African Giant stood tall as he clinched the Best Act in Africa award and the Best Album of the Year trophy, beating out South Africa’s Kabza De Small, Cote D’Ivoire’s Didi B, among others.

'2 Sugar' crooner Wizkid went home with the Best Act in West Africa award, while Davido was given the Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music Award.

In recognition of his song 'High' with Davido, Adekunle Gold won two awards; Best Act Group in African Contemporary Music and Best Act, Duo or Group in African Pop. 

The Song of the Year award went to Ivorian singer, Didi B and Guinean singer, Manamba Kanye, won the Best Female Act in West Africa award.

Present to give thrilling performances at the event held at the 15,000-capacity Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal were Nigeria's P-Square and Ghana's Black Sheriff.
