After Fiver Years, Man Who Walked For Buhari's Win Gets Gift

A man, Dahiru Buba, who celebrated the win of President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2015 presidential election has been awarded a car by the Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya.

Buba's walk of celebration was said to have brought about limb complications, calling for support from the government.

Buba, 50, was presented with a car by the Yahaya at the Gombe Governor's Lodge in Abuja and N2 million Monday.

In a statement issued by the governor's media aide, Ismaila Msilli, Buba was diagnosed at the Government House clinic and was transferred to a private orthopaedic hospital.

Yahaya said that for Buba's walk of solidarity with the president and the party - the All Progressives Congress (APC) - he, and people like himself, "should not be neglected".

The show of generosity comes five years after Buba made that long walk that took him 15 days to complete.

The governor said, “For taking the pains and risks to show solidarity with Mr. President and our great party, people like Buba should not be neglected.

“So, on learning about his condition, first I directed that he should be taken to the hospital for proper medical attention and I am happy that he is now better after undergoing his first round of treatment.

“As far as we are concerned in the APC and in this administration, no genuine effort or sacrifice will go unrewarded, no matter how long it takes.

“So, on behalf of our dear President and our beloved party, we say a big thank you for your show of support and solidarity.
