Again Gunmen Attack Sunday Igboho's Residence

Less than 72 hours before the planned mega rally in Lagos State, unknown gunmen attacked the Soka Ibadan residence of Sunday Adeyemo, a.k.a. Sunday Igboho.

The attack occurred on Thursday midnight when the assailants stormed the area. Several persons were reportedly killed, cars destroyed while some were whisked away.

There are conflicting reports about those who carried out the attack, but Igboho’s spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, in a live video, alleged that some men in military uniforms carried out the attack around 1:00 am.

According to the media aide, some persons were whisked away by the gunmen during the attack

He said, “I can confirm that those who came are definitely Nigerian soldiers. There were more than 100 soldiers that came,”

“The situation is very active as more security operatives in about seven Nigerian Army patrol vans have arrived. He (Sunday Igboho) is currently safe.”

Details of the incident are still sketchy as the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Ayo, is yet to respond to the attack.

This is not the first time the Yoruba activist's residence has been attacked but security operatives have refused to confirm or deny such attacks
