At least nine persons have been killed and many injured as gunmen attacked Te’egbe Village of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, burning many houses in the attack.

The village was attacked barely two days after two farmers were ambushed and killed in Ancha Village of Miango District of Irigwe Chiefdom in Bassa Local Government.

Davidson Malison, the spokesman of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), who confirmed the development said, the assailants invaded the village around 1am on Friday.

Governor Simon Lalong in a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Simon Machan, condemned the attack and called on security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the act.

Lalong, while commiserating with the victims and families of those killed, assured that they would get justice as Government would stop at nothing to unravel those behind the ugly incident that continue to disrupt the livelihoods of the people of the Local Government.

Long also directed the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Peace Building Agency (PBA) to immediately visit the area and assess the level of damage to carry out immediate intervention and bring succour to those in need as a result of the barbaric attack.

He also called on the people to assist the security agencies with relevant information that will enable them to crack the identity and motives behind the attacks.
