Aids Agency Donates Ambulances To Kano

Dr. Gawuna received the ambulances at Kano State Government House on Tuesday.

The National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) on Tuesday donated four modern ambulances to Kano State Government in its bid to help further strengthen the state’s health care services.

Speaking while handing over the car to Kano State Government, the Director General of NACA Dr. Gambo Aliyu Gumel who was represented by the Director Special Duties, Baidi Gajo Muhammed explained that the donation was in appreciation of Kano State Government's efforts towards HIV/AIDS control and other healthcare services.

He expressed hope that this would contribute in strengthening health care delivery at some hospitals in the state.

“Our attention was attracted by the commitment of Kano State Government to provide accessible and equitable qualitative health services to its people,” he said.

While receiving the ambulances at the Kano Government House, on behalf of the state government,  the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna commended NACA and Global Fund for the donation which he said would complement the government's efforts of providing immediate response towards strengthening the state healthcare delivery.

"I wish to commend the effort of the donors for their support to the State Government through their interventions to improve emergency medical services and healthcare delivery".

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa who gushed over how the ambulances are equipped with medical equipment and gadgets assured that they will be put to good use.
