In a press release sent to AllNews on Thursday, AIPS called for his immediate release "in accordance with the press freedom law in force in Guinea".

"A simple fine corresponding to a press-related crime was requested against Amadou Djouldé Diallo on the 13th of April during his trial in Conakry, of which the final decision will be deliberated on the 28th of April.

"However, the prosecutor refused the provisional release of the journalist.
