AirPlay 2 Continues To Enjoy iOS App Support On Spotify

Digital music giant  Spotify has reported that it will continue support on AirPlay 2 streaming on iOS apps and promises updates “when they become available.”

Spotify clarified the claim that it will not support Airplay 2 and apologised for any confusion it might have caused.

A representative previously claimed AirPlay 2 wasn't practical due to audio driver compatibility problems. It hadn't completely ruled out the concept, but suggested that it wouldn't be viable in the "foreseeable future."

AirPlay 2 is expected to make it easier to stream music to HomePods and other devices that support Apple's media technology but have either limited or non-existent integration with Spotify itself.

AirPlay 2 was launched as part of iOS 11.4 in May 2018 with several enhancements to the original AirPlay wireless audio protocol, including multi-room audio, Siri voice control, and improved buffering.

Microsoft’s head of Windows and Devices, Panos Panay also teased the Focus Sessions Windows 11 feature on Twitter last week, and it appears to be a new way to focus on tasks and work. Focus Sessions includes Spotify integration, allowing users to create a focus timer to work through tasks while listening to a playlist of music from Spotify.
