Aisha Buhari Returns To Nigeria After Six Months In Dubai

Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigeria President Muhammad Buhari is back in Nigeria after spending six months in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Recall Aisha, who anonymously relocated to Dubai after Hanan, one of her daughters, got married in September 2020, is currently at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The first lady was said to have returned to the country on Wednesday night.

There were concerns over her whereabouts during the long absence but the presidency avoided making comments on the issue.

However, it was later rumoured that the first lady quietly left Nigeria due to the security crisis rocking the country.

In December 2020, one of the First Lady’s aides, Kabiru Dodo, opened up on the current absence in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.

Dodo made comments on the development while making a presentation of some items to widows on behalf of the president’s wife. He faulted the report that President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife left the country because of the rising insecurity.

Dodo who was a former APC governorship aspirant in Taraba State admitted that the First Lady is in the UAE but she traveled for medical reasons.

“The First Lady traveled for her medical trip, she did not flee the country because of insecurity.

“She left her children, her husband, and family in Nigeria.

“What people are saying is baseless and worth nothing to be considered.

“I want to tell the whole world that I do speak to her on daily basis and she is ready to return to the country as soon as she is done with the medical treatment abroad,” Dodo said.

The former member of the Taraba State House of Assembly added that the first lady did not leave Nigeria because of insecurity even when her husband was not present.

It would be recalled that Aliyu Abdullahi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity (Office of the First Lady), on a national television refused to disclose Mrs Buhari’s whereabouts.

Rather than respond to the question he was asked during his appearance he told the interviewer that he was not invited to the show to discuss the privacy of the first lady.

His words; “I am sorry, Kayode (referring to the Presenter on Politics Today), this is not part of what I was actually invited here to discuss in your studio.

“I will not be speaking on that because it is not part of what we agreed for me to come and discuss. So, let us leave that issue out of the interview please,” Abdullahi said.

Aliyu further said that maintained that Mrs Buhari was entitled to her private life.
