Nigeria's First Lady, Aisha Buhari has visited the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lobby for women ahead of the 2023 elections.
The First Lady visited on Monday evening when the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party was having a meeting.
AllNews Nigeria gathered that the First Lady's arrival put the meeting on hold.
The First Lady who spent some time with the leadership of the party said she was available to canvas support for women in the coming 2023 elections.
Briefing newsmen at the secretariat after her visit, Aisha said she was there to congratulate the party chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu on clinching the party leadership.
She added that while she appreciated the works of other party executives, she was there "to also seek support for women, they should not be forgotten.”
The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen who was also part of the First Lady's entourage said the party leadership should not forget women.
