Captain Rasheedat Ajibade continued her goal-scoring form as she scored twice to help Nigeria's Super Falcons thrash Ethiopia 4-0 (5-1 on aggregate) in Abuja on Tuesday evening.

The win means Nigeria has advanced to the third qualifying round of the Paris 2024 Women’s Football Olympic Games.

Uchenna Kanu fired Nigeria ahead when she calmly slotted the ball home late on in the first half.

The lead was doubled by Ajibade five minutes after the restart when she turned home a pass from Asisat Oshoala from close range.

Oshola added a third in the 68th minute with a brilliant header from Kanu’s cross.

Ajibade then registered her brace four minutes later, finishing with ease after she was set up by Oshoala.

Nigeria will now trade tackles with Cameroon, who beat Uganda 3-2 on aggregate to reach the third round.

The third round of qualifying games is billed to take place between February 9 and 28, 2024.
