The ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is confident of victory in the second round of elections on May 28, according to Numan Kurtulmuş, the party's deputy chair.
Kurtulmuş on Tuesday expressed optimism, stating that the AK Party would finish the job left half completed and secure a win without succumbing to languor.
The upcoming elections will see incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, leader of the AK Party, competing against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu of the six-party opposition alliance.
The first round of the elections was a tight race, with Erdoğan securing 49.52% of the vote against Kılıçdaroğlu's 44.88%.
Kurtulmuş emphasized the AK Party's confidence in the sagacity of the electorate and criticized the opposition for not accepting the results.
He highlighted that the AK Party has consistently garnered significant support from the Turkish public, with 67% of voters supporting the party in past elections.
Kurtulmuş noted that Erdoğan's vote potential goes beyond 49.5% and affirmed the party's strong position.
Kurtulmuş also pointed out that the People's Alliance, led by the AK Party, emerged victorious in the parliamentary polls, reflecting the electorate's trust in the alliance.
