Akinrun Chieftaincy Tussle: Kingmaker Denies Alleged Financi

Crown

The Olukotun of Ikirun, Chief Oseni Agboola has denied the allegation of financial inducement in the choice of Prince Yunus Olalekan Akadiri as the Akinrun-elect of Ikirun in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.

Chief Agboola who is one of the six kingmakers that elected Prince Akadiri during an election held at the secretariat of Ifelodun Local Government to choose the Akinrun had alleged that he was induced financially by some unnamed political Officeholders to vote for Akadiri.

He also alleged that he was lodged at an undisclosed facility in Osogbo, the state capital alongside some other kingmakers.

But in what appears as a dramatic turn of events, Chief Agboola disclosed that all the allegations he mentioned were false.

He said he was not induced financially by any politician or lodged in any hotel either in Osogbo or anywhere in the country.

The Kingmaker in a recent interview said he suspected that he was hypnotized by some members of his family, admitting that his action was unexpected of a traditional Chief like him.

"I suspect those who forced me to speak used chams for me and I was unaware of this. All that I said was far from the truth and I sincerely apologize for this. I am sorry for all the allegations raised in the audio recently released. Nobody gave me money and I was not lodged in any hotel.

"I have never been to the government house in my life. I was not lodged in any hotel. I didn't travel outside my home town Ikirun in the last few days. I didn't know what came on me that made me say all that I said.

"Some things are after my life. They are looking for ways to eliminate me and because of that I could not go out or move freely again. They are threatening me because I voted for Prince Akadiri to be chosen as the Akinrun of Ikirun. I am sorry for all that I said.

"I promise to maintain my cordial relationship with other chiefs who are after the peace and progress of our town. The Elemo Aga of Ikirun land, High Chief Bamidele Onifade did not at any time influence my decision. We have good and cordial relationship and I have a lot of respect for him," he added.

It would be recalled that the Elemo Aga of Ikirun, High Chief Onifade had chastised the Olukotun on his allegation against the Kingmakers.
