Akpabio Visits Gombe, Woos Delegates Ahead of APC Primaries

One of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godswill Akpabio, has visited Gombe state in a bid to woo delegates ahead of party primaries.

Akpabio said he would work towards promoting and maintaining peace and unity in the country if elected.

He made this known while addressing the party delegates at the Gombe State Government House on Monday.

Speaking about his experience in bringing peace to the country, he said while he was the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, he engaged stakeholders in the region that brought normalcy.

He further stated that if given the chance, he would use state of the art technology to fight against crimes in the country.

Akpabio also said if given the opportunity to lead the country, he would focus on improving the country's economy through the agriculture and manufacturing sectors.

The governor of Gombe state, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who spoke during the visit said his state would always support a government that works for the people.

He further said that Akpabio has all it takes to lead the country, especially with his wealth of experience as a former governor, senator and minister.

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli stated that the governor was represented by his Deputy, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau.

Also speaking during the visit, the National Coordinator of Godshill Akpabio Campaign Organisation and former FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar advised the delegates to choose wisely.

Adding that he has known the presidential hopeful for over 15 years, stressing that he has what it takes to lead the country to the promised land.
