Alaafin's Selection: Due Process Must Be Followed — Makind

Makinde Declares Intention To Run For 2nd Term

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has insisted that in the selection of a new Alaafin, due process must be followed.

This is as he called on the Agunloye Ruling House and interested princes to be patient.

Giving the message of assurance at the eighth-day final/interdenominational prayer held in honour of the late Oba Adeyemi in Oyo on Saturday, Makinde who was represented by Bayo Lawal, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters noted that the Oyo people were anxious to have a new king.

“People are eager to see the next king, but we have to follow due process.

“We promise not to compromise and another Alaafin will come in due time,” the governor said.

It would be recalled that the late Oba Adeyemi died on April 22 at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
