Africa's wealthiest man Aliko Dangote is now the 73rd richest human in the world with an estimated net worth of $20 billion.
Per Bloomberg's billionaires' index report, the president of Dangote Group climbed to his present position from his previous ranking of 83 in February 2022.
Dangote sits comfortably as Africa's top billionaire, a position he has held for 11 years being the African who made the top 100 list of the world's 500 richest people.
The business magnate's wealth rose after a year-to-date price increase in the shares of Dangote Cement Plc.
Johann Rupert, South Africa's richest man, comes in at a distant 213th position as a result of him losing $1 billion following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The conflict has adversely affected shares in luxury goods markets, with the latest reports estimating Rupert's net worth at $9.8 billion; a dip from $11.93 billion at the beginning of 2022.
