All Is Not Well Between Aregbesola, Oyetola - Osun APC Group

All Is Not Well Between Aregbesola, Oyetola - Osun APC Group

All Progressives Congress

As the state congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, October 16 draws nearer, the Second Eleven, a caucus within the Osun APC has accused the party leadership and the state governor of mismanaging the hard-earned victory of the party in the state.

The convener of Second Eleven, Oke Adeyemi, in an interview with DAILY POST also revealed that contrary to information that has been flying around, all is not well between the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola.

Adeyemi disclosed that a majority of party members in the state were also aggrieved because they feel their party has been hijacked by usurpers and intruders, especially those in government.

He also claimed that the past governor and Minister Interior did not harbour any plans to dominate the party in the state but rather to salvage it from the clutches of people whose sole interest is to destroy everything the progressives laboured for.

He explained that the problem between Oyetola and Aregbesola has been prolonged because the governor being a technocrat may not have been aware of it.

"He would have known that there is a big problem even in his own group, Ileri Oluwa.

"Many of them came to hijack our party and they are lacking ideas and experience. Anything can happen within their fold and I will not be surprised but in our caucus, we are ready to work for the progress of our party and the interest of the electorates and the general populace.

"There are many aggrieved members in the APC right now and information I have is that IleriOluwa group may even have a problem right now which they are trying to cover up.

"And the problem is because of the forthcoming APC state congress.

"The truth is that not all of us are working for the victory of the party but I know of some caucus especially The Osun Progressives (TOP) who are ready to throw everything into the ring to secure victory for the party in the coming elections but as for those in government, nobody can say actually what they aim to achieve."

While stating the purpose of the group, he explained that it was set up to save the party from crumbling in the future and to discourage aggrieved members from decamping to other parties.

Adeyemi acknowledged that there is a need to forestall a setback and for the APC as a body to achieve progress after sacrificing so much to attain democracy.
