Alleged Body Part Removal: Ibadan Family Protests Hospital Action

Alleged Body Part Removal: Ibadan Family Protests Hospital A

An Ibadan family has protested the alleged removal of body parts of their late mother by a hospital.

The family also accused the management of Ibadan Central Hospital of tampering with and cutting off the flesh of the elderly mother who died in the facility on Sunday.

It was gathered that after the elderly woman passed away on Sunday morning in the hospital, the family agreed with the hospital management to convey her corpse to a mortuary on Monday morning.

On Monday morning, one of the deceased's sons arrived at the hospital to convey the corpse only to discover the body had been tampered with.

The family member alleged that the flesh in a part of her hand, head and some areas in the body had been sliced off.

On noticing this, he raised the alarm which attracted other daily members and members of the public.

The alarm also promoted residents of the Ososami area of Ibadan where the hospital is located to join in the protest.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force and Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) also known as Amotekun have been drafted to the hospital to prevent the breakdown of law and order as at the time of filing this report.

Efforts made to get the hospital’s management to react have so far proved to be abortive.
