1. Renua Giwa-Amu Commits Suicide

Pastor Femi Giwa-Amu's daughter Renua, on Sunday, committed suicide. AllNews Nigeria learnt that Renua had earlier on Sunday taken to her Instagram story to reveal that she was going to commit suicide while warning members of her family not to mourn her. Until her demise, Renua who had struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts over the years had accused her father of raping her as a child on numerous occasions.

2. Again, Gunmen Abduct 48 People, Kill 2 In Katsina

Gunmen have attacked the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, reportedly killing two people and kidnapping 48 others. According to Daily Trust, the suspected bandits were in Daurawa village Friday night where they killed two and abducted five people. Another source said that at around 7 pm Saturday, the gunmen raided Garin Dodo village and abducted 32 people.

3. President Buhari Felicitates General Olu Bajowa At 80

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday sent a congratulatory message to former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Olu Bajowa on his 80th birthday. AllNews learned that President Buhari's congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled “President Buhari salutes Gen. Olu Bajowa at 80.”

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu on Sunday urged the former Governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole not to subvert the will of the people and jettison the plan to overturn the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki at the September 2020 governorship election through the judiciary. AllNews gathered that the Deputy Governor who said this during an empowerment programme for Afemai Youths in Ogbona and Jattu reaffirmed confidence in the judiciary and the President, Muhammadu Buhari, to protect the nation’s democracy and the collective will of Edo people.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari is not heading towards a failed state. Stating this in reaction to a statement by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) insinuating that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari was gradually becoming a failed state, the Secretary of the party's Caretaker/ Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe pointed out that the Buhari led administration is not oblivious to the country’s challenges and is visibly and frontally addressing them.
