1. Pastoralists Advise New Service Chiefs On How To Defeat Insurgency

Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, (KACRAN), has dished out some advice on how the new service chiefs can win the ongoing war against Boko Haram terrorists.

Hon. Khalil Mohammed Bello, National President of the Association in a press statement on Monday in Damaturu, spoke in reaction to the recent appointment of new service chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.

2. Gov. Makinde Holds Meeting With Ibarapa Stakeholders, Others

In his bid to find a lasting solution to the security challenges in the Ibarapa Zone of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde on Sunday held an overnight meeting with selected stakeholders, local government chairs, and other political office holders from the zone.

A statement issued on Monday in Ibadan by Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, indicated that the meeting held at Igbo-Ora.

4. IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu, Imo Government Clash Over Open Grazing

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Imo State government led by Hope Uzodinma are not in agreement over open grazing in the South East region.

The IPOB leader once again appealed to southeast governors to, as a matter of urgency, ban all manner of open grazing in the region in compliance with the 1969 statutory law of the Federal Government that banned it.

5. Insurgents Destroy Electricity Tower In Maiduguri

Residents of Maiduguri and environs have been thrown into lingering blackout following the destruction of one of the towers supplying electricity to the city from the national grid.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the blackout, which has lasted for one week, has grounded many businesses that are relying on power.

6. WAEC Extends Registration For WASSCE For Private Candidates

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has extended the registration for its private West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination to February 5, 2021.

The notice was contained in a short statement signed by Head, Public Affairs, WAEC, Demianus Ojijeogu, titled, ‘WASSCE For Private Candidates, 2021-First Series: Extension of Registration Period’.

7. Man Begs Bishop Oyedepo To Create 100,000 Capacity Employment Value For Nigerian Youth

A Nigerian man simply identified as Chinedu has called on Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners' Chapel to use funds for the proposed "100,000 capacity Ark" project to benefit Nigerian youths.

AllNews Nigeria recalls that Bishop Oyedepo disclosed the commencement of the long-awaited megachurch auditorium project to be carried out by the Church during a Sunday service.

8. Silver Price Surges As Speculators Focus On Commodity

Silver is one of the rarest metals on earth and is considered a high-demand commodity by many traders. 

The price leaped to an eight-year high on Monday, amidst social media calls to buy the metal and emulate the frenzy that drove up shares in US video games retailer GameStop.

According to an internet price calculator, silver price in Nigeria rose as demands for the commodity increased. Currently, silver goes for NGN378.01/gram in Nigeria, compared to what it used to be before the surge in price.

9. Serena Remains Face Of Women Tennis — Osaka

World No. 3 Naomi Osaka paid homage to 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in spite of her fast rise into superstardom, believing she remains the "face of women's tennis".

The 23-year-old has made a significant splash on and off the court since beating a tempestuous Williams in an infamous US Open final in 2018.

10. Nigerian Police Arrest Kidnap Ring, Child-Porn Syndicate

The Nigerian Police have arrested five members of a kidnap ring and two child-porn syndicates.

AllNews Nigeria reports that the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Frank Mba, in a statement on Sunday said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) amid rising cases of abduction.
