2. Uganda Election: UN Calls For Peaceful Polls

The Secretary-General to the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres has implored all political actors and their supporters in the Ugandan election to “refrain from the use of hate speech, intimidation and violence”.  Guterres made this known in a statement while expressing concern over reports of violence and tensions in parts of the country on Thursday, January 14, 2020.

The Nigerian Police through its spokesperson, Frank Mba has revealed why the security arm is working closely with the #EndSARS judicial panels across the nation. AllNews Nigeria reports that Frank Mba who was recently promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police, on Thursday disclosed that the force is monitoring and working with the EndSARS panels sittings across the nation in order to further restrategize towards community policing.

4. I Am Not Proud Of Banning Trump — Jack Dorsey

Twitter’s Chief Executive (CEO), Jack Dorsey has reacted to the banning of President Donald Trump from the social platform. Recall that Trump was banned from Twitter after the United States Capitol invasion after he posted tweets (now deleted) that tactically supported further opposition to the incoming administration to be led by Joe Biden.

5. COVID-19: 20 Doctors Test Positive In Kwara

The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) on Wednesday says 20 of its doctors have contracted COVID-19 in the past three weeks.  The President of the UITH chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Badmus Habeeb disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kwara State.

6. Omokri Sends Warning Message To Those Threatening Bishop Kukah

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to erstwhile Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday warned those threatening Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah. AllNews Nigeria understands that Omokri issued the warning in reaction to the quit notice issued to Kukah by the Muslim Solidarity Forum in Sokoto State.

7. Biafra Activist, Nnamdi Kanu Renews Call For Revolution

The leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has warned military authorities, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies against searching for the controversial Eastern Security Network (ESN). Kanu sneered at Nigerian security agencies, asking anyone who goes into the forest in search of the ESN to consider him or herself a dead man.

8. Transfer Live: African Star Speaks After Completing Man Utd Move

Ivorian winger, Amad Diallo says he is eyeing the English Premier League (EPL) and Champions League crown after completing a "dream" move to Manchester United. United reached an agreement to sign the 18-year-old from Atalanta of Italy for £37 million ($51m) on the final day of the summer transfer window. However, the final deal was subject to personal terms and work permit, with the Old Trafford club forced to apply for a governing body exemption before the attacker could obtain a visa.

9. Is FG Accepting Application For Business Relief Support Fund?

A piece of information doing the rounds in the cyber space is that the Nigerian government, through AssistNigeria, is 'helping businesses and students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic'. The purported Relief Fund was linked to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria.

Actress Toyin Abraham Aimakhu has featured in a new movie titled 'Prophetess' and it will start showing at the cinemas from the 26th of March, 2021. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, the star actress played the lead role in the upcoming comedy alongside Lateef Adedimeji, Muyiwa Ademola, Tina Mba, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Deyemi Okanlawon, Uzor Arukwe, Kehinde Bankole, Kunle Remi and Big Brother Naija season four housemate, Seyi Awolowo.
