1. 'Gunmen' Kidnap Catholic Bishop In Imo State

Suspected gunmen have reportedly abducted the auxiliary Bishop of Owerri archdiocese in Imo State, Bishop Chikwe Moses. AllNews Nigeria learnt the bishop was whisked away on Monday while coming out from his Owerri residence. According to a release from the archdiocese of Owerri, “your eminences, your graces, your lordships, it is sad to announce to you that our Auxiliary Bishop, Chikwe Moses, has been kidnapped. There has not been any form of communication from the kidnappers since his kidnap on Monday.

2. Fact Check: Is Bishop Kukah Vying For A Political Office?

Some Nigerians speculate that Bishop of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah is vying for a political position in Nigeria following his recent statement about the Buhari administration. However, Bishop Kukah has, in a media briefing with journalists at St. Bakhita Secretariat in Sokoto State on Monday, insisted that he has no interest in partisan politics. Kukah also denied calling for a coup in Nigeria and said different lies were being peddled about in his name.

3. Second Wave: FRSC To Shut Rivers Parks Over Rising COVID-19 Cases

The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Rivers State,  Salisu Galadunci has said its commission would not hesitate to shut down all motor parks in Part Harcourt and its environs that continually flout extant guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). AllNews learned that the State FRSC Sector Commander gave the warning while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State capital on Tuesday.

4. #JusticeForDonDavis: Deeper Life To Share Update On Alleged Molestation Of Schoolboy

The Deeper Life Bible Church will later today, Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 share an update on the alleged molestation of one of its students in its school in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom. AllNews Nigeria recalls that the mother of an 11-year-old student, Deborah Okezie, had in a Facebook video that went viral claimed that her son was starved and molested by his seniors after the principal moved him to their dormitory for urinating on his bed.

5. 2023 Election: Jimi Agbaje Says He Still Have A Role To Play In Politics

The Lagos Governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 and 2019 general election, Jimi Agbaje on Tuesday revealed that he still has a role to play in the politics of the state and the country come 2023. AllNews gathered that Agbaje, who was defeated in the last two elections by All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu however, said he's running for office “is not at all cost”.

8. Lists Of Phones That’ll Lack Access To WhatsApp From January 2021

The new WhatsApp update will prevent older Android and iPhone devices from having access to the app starting from January 1, 2021, just as AllNews had earlier reported. The development would force owners to either update their mobile operating system or buy a new smartphone. Any iPhone not running iOS 9 or newer, or any phone not running at least Android 4.0.3 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich will no longer be able to access the app.

9. Police Arrest Ex- Lawmaker's Son, Two Others For Robbery

A son of Hon. Uduak Akiba, a former Cross River State House of Assembly member, and two others have been arrested for alleged armed robbery. The suspects were reportedly in a car driven by the son of the ex-member of the House of Assembly. An eyewitness, who gave his name as Francis, said the incident occurred at Chief Obot Street Housing Estate, Calabar Municipal Local Government Area of the state

10. New COVID-19 Strain Already In Nigeria, Too Late To Ban Flight From UK, Claims Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former aide to erstwhile President, Goodluck Jonathan has on Tuesday argued that it is too late for the Federal government to start considering banning flight from the United Kingdom (UK). According to him, the new variant of COVID-19 was already in Nigeria. Omokri took to his Twitter page to react to a move by the Federal Government to ban flights from the UK. The government's action is intended to prevent the entrance of the dangerous variant of COVID-19 believed to be domiciled in the UK.
