Atiku Abubakar has become one of the first Nigerians to receivee the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections, reportedly took the Pfizer vaccine in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, to prevent symptomatic cases of COVID-19. Bulama a Borno State Coordinator Atikukawai support group disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Thursday morning.

2. US: Atiku Reacts To America's Political Crisis

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the 2019 presidential election Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the recent political crisis that rocked the United States of America. Atiku who took to his Twitter page to share his opinion pointed out that a strong institution was vital to the sustainability of democracy.

3. Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA, Others Quell Inferno At Oshodi

Minutes ago, there was a fire outbreak at Toyota bus stop along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway in Nigeria`s commercial capital, Lagos. According to reports, the fire emanated from an oil tanker conveying more than forty thousand litres of fuel. Eyewitnesses said the tanker was in motion when it fell sideways, thereby discharging its content.

4. Npower Nexit Portal Now Open, Steps To Register

The Npower Nexit Portal is now opened for candidates to update their data. Npower Nexit Portal is only opened to the second batch A and B registration who were not able to send their data to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Empowerment Options of the last concluded exercise to fill their form now. The Npower beneficiaries of batches A and B are advised to fill their Nexit form to avoid misappropriate situation and disappointment.

5. 2023 Presidency: Igbo Leaders Must Work With Nnamdi Kanu – Bamgbose

The National Coordinator of the Concerned Advocate for Good Governance (CAGG), Olusegun Bamgbose on Wednesday advised Igbo leaders to work hand in hand with the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu in their quest to produce the next President of Nigeria come 2023. Bamgbose, who is also eyeing the position added that the earlier the Igbo leaders realized that Nnamdi Kanu had become a force in southeast politics, the better for them.

6. EFCC Warns Nigerians Against NIN Sale

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has warned Nigerians against the sales and purchase of the National Identification Number (NIN), following the order to get all numbers registered by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). According to the antigraft agency, some unscrupulous persons are cashing in on the enrollees’ desperation, inducing them to sell their NIN for a fee. The Commission spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

7. Capitol Attack: Twitter, Facebook Block Donald Trump's Accounts

Popular social media platforms Twitter and Facebook have blocked President Donald Trump from their platforms following his tweet to supporters that instigated them to attack the US Capitol. In a social media message to protesters, he said "I love you" before telling them to go home. He also repeated false claims about election fraud. Twitter said it required the removal of three tweets for "severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy".

8. Alves Named First Female Referee In Men's FIFA Competition

Edina Alves is set to become the first woman to officiate a professional men's football match organised by FIFA when she takes charge of a game at the FIFA Club World Cup in February. The 40-year-old Brazilian who has spent half of her life refereeing calls the feat boundary-breaking, a product of two decades of preparation and hard work. Alves said her selection on Monday for the tournament in Qatar, which runs between February 1 and 11 is "a dream come true."

Veteran Nollywood actor, Muyiwa Ademola, on Wednesday paid tribute to the late actress Orisabunmi, describing her death as a rude shock and a total disaster to the entertainment industry. The actor made this known via his Instagram handle while sharing his grief for the loss, saying it is still like a dream to him.

Samsung Electronics has released two trailers ahead of its presentations at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. The company's upcoming presentation at the event is meant to highlight its efforts at creating a “Better Normal for All”.
