According to Kanu [who was reacting to a news report of Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor saying that bandits are present in the South-West state], ESN was simply created "to defend our farmlands and forests".

The leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State that his enemies are plotting to frustrate his political assignment. Recall Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had defeated Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 2020, governorship election. Before and after the election, Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, have been slammed with numerous court cases challenging their qualification for the election.

Civil Society Groups have exonerated security agencies over insecurity even as the leadership call on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Ministers, NSA, and  National Assembly Leadership. In a communiqué signed by Dr. Nwambu Gabriel, the Coalition emphasized that none of the heads of security including the Inspector General of Police and other military heads are the cause of insecurity bedeviling Nigeria

5. Second Wave: Nigeria To Suspend Passports Of Travelers Who Evade COVID-19Tests - PTF

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha on Tuesday said Nigeria will suspend passports of travelers who evade COVID-19 testing till June 2021 to serve as a deterrent to others. Boss Mustapha who made this known while speaking at the COVID-19 routine briefing also added that the center will also publish the passports of the first 100 passengers who failed to undergo the compulsory COVID-19 test after returning to the country.

The opposition Presidential candidate of Uganda, Bobi Wine has been arrested again alongside his campaign team in Kalangala, the country's central region, AllNews reports. Bobi wine who made this known on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, via his verified Twitter account said “Bobi Wine and his entire campaign team arrested in Kalangala! Media blocked.”

A renowned drummer and founder of the legendary Apala band, Adewole Alao Onilu-Ola, which featured the late legendary Apala singer and Superstar Ayinla Omowura has passed on at age 97.  AllNews gathered that the legendary drummer died at about 10.00 pm on Tuesday in his hometown, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital and his remains will be buried today (Wednesday) at his Keesi residence in Abeokuta, according to Islamic injunctions.
