Amotekun Arrests 5 For Stealing Electric Cables, Motorcycle

The operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps have arrested 4 suspects for stealing electric cables in the Oye Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

Brigadier General Joe Komolafe (retired), the Ekiti Amotekun Corps Commander declared that another man was also arrested in the process of stealing a commercial motorcycle at Ado Ekiti.

Komolafe declared today, Monday that “The four suspects who stole an electric cable went from Ado Ekiti to attack a building in Ilupeju Ekiti. The people around the area raised alarm and drew the attention of our men. We arrested them and they also confessed to the crime.

“The fifth suspect was caught as he was stealing a motorcycle on Friday. Unfortunately for him, we arrested him in the process of stealing while his friend ran.

“The five suspects would be given to the police for investigation as we'll do well to arrest the fleeing friend of the suspected motorcycle robber.”

One of the suspects named Ojo said he is a 300-level law student in a Nigerian university, and was only involved in the electric cable theft to raise school fees for himself.
