The operatives of the Osun Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps have arrested a suspected armed robber identified as Mojeed Olanrewaju for stealing a motorcycle in Ikire.

The 29-year-old was arrested on Wednesday after the residents of the Ilupeju Community in Ikire alerted the security outfit at her Ikire command, swung into action immediately, and apprehended the culprit.

Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi revealed that it was in the course of carting away the motorcycle that the owner saw him and alerted the security outfit at her Ikire Command.

He also stated that immediately the Osun Amotekun operatives were alerted, they swung into action and apprehended the culprit.

Upon interrogation, Adewinmbi revealed that the culprit confessed to the crime and explained that he had indulged in motorcycle theft for a long time.

Mojeed also explained that he always sells the stolen motorcycles to one Baba Dele, who is Ibadan-based in the sum of #100, 000 and #80,000 and he had been jailed for two years for the same offence in 2019.

“He will be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution,” Adewinmbi concluded.
