Amotekun Steps In To Prevent Cattle, Herdsmen Invasion Of Os

The Amotekun in Osun State has forced out Fulani herdsmen who invaded Osogbo on Thursday with over 1,000 cattle.

The cattle which were sighted in the early hours of Thursday around the Dele Yes Sir Area were laden with luggage and personal items.

Also, the herdsmen were observed to be armed with clubs and machetes and were heading towards West By-pass when operatives of Amotekun encountered them.

It was gathered that the herdsmen came into Osun from Ogbomoso, Oyo State in search of pasture for their animals.

The Osun Amotekun Field Commander, Amitolu Shittu who confirmed the development to AllNews assured that there was no reason for panic.

Shittu revealed that upon confrontation, the herdsmen wanted to be unruly but the men of the security outfit forced them out of the state.

He noted that the security outfit was enforcing the law which has banned open grazing in the South-West states of Nigeria.
