Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has reacted after her movie ‘Battle on Buka Street’ bagged 10 nominations at the ninth edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The nominations were announced by Bisola Aiyeola and Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
Reacting to the nominations, Akindele took to her Instagram page to thank the cast and crew members who worked on the project and her fans.
“Thank God, thank you my fans, thank you to the cast and crew members. Thank you my partners, Film One. Yes we did it. Funke Akindele; small girl big God,” she said.
She urged her fans to vote for ‘Battle on Buka Street’ to win in the nominated categories.
The movie was nominated for Best Overall Movie, Best Soundtrack, Best Makeup, Best Writer, Best Art Director, Best Picture Editor, Best Sound Editor, Best Actress in a Comedy (Funke Akindele), Best Actor in a Comedy (Nkem Owoh) and Best Actress in a Comedy (Mercy Johnson) categories.
