Anambra State Education Commissioner, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has disclosed that the plans to implement e-Curriculum and e-Lesson notes in public primary schools across the state were ongoing.
Speaking on behalf of the state's Ministry of Education at a retreat for government primary school head teachers, organised in association with the state Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB on Thursday in Awka.
The commissioner noted that Governor Soludo's government is aware of the relevance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education, especially in the production of computer literate and independent students.
She said to achieve this, teachers need to oblige with ICT, adding that head teachers of the schools would be taught how to go about biometric capturing on Anambra Schools Portal. which has on it information on teachers and students of each school.
“To drive this innovation, teachers need to be ICT compliant for easy communication and implementation of eCurriculum and eLesson notes in our schools.
“We are equipping our schools with the necessary infrastructure and technology to deliver true digital content in classrooms,” she said.
Chuma-Udeh further said activities and issues bothering the school could be uploaded on the portal.
The official said the primary school teachers were the 'foundation moulders of the students, requesting their dedication to the profession.
Also speaking, Ogochukwu Obi, Officer-in-charge of ASUBEB, maintained that the retreat was organised to upgrade the quality of education rendered to students in primary schools across Anambra.
