Anambra: Obiano Signs Anti-Open Grazing Bill Into Law

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, on Friday joined his counterparts in the southern Nigeria to sign the anti-open grazing bill into law.

Obiano assented to the bill termed Cattle and Other Livestock Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill of Anambra State at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Awka.

The governor said that the state decided to ban open grazing as a short-term measure aimed at managing the frequent clashes between herders and farmers in the state.

He revealed that the law enforcement agencies have been directed to immediately commence the implementation of the law.
