Anambra State: Soludo Releases List Of 80-Member Transition

Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Anambra State Governor-elect has set up an 80-member transition committee to assist in his swearing-in, slated for March 17, 2022.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by Soludo’s media aide, Joe Anatume, the 80-member list comprises of prominent Nigerians, who will play diverse roles.

He stated that the committee was set up to liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Soludo-led administration.

The statement confirmed that former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili was appointed the head of the committee, while Professor Benedict Oramah, Professor Pat Utomi, and Osita Chidoka would play crucial roles in the transition.

Steve Nworga, Ben Nwankwo, Charles Odedo, Tony Ifeanya, Uche Okafor, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, Ferdinand Agu, Professor Osita Ogbu, Chikwe Udensi, Greg Ibe, and Alex Otti, among others, also made the list.

"The terms of reference for the committee, as well as its mode of operation, will be communicated during the inauguration and first plenary session scheduled for between January 19 and 22, 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel in the state," the statement added.

All members of the committee are expected to arrive in Anambra State on Wednesday, January 19, while the inauguration and first plenary sessions will start on January 20.
