Another APC Member, David Umahi Declares Intention For Presidency

Barely 24 hours after All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu declared his intentions to contest in the 2023 presidential election, Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has also declared interest for the same seat.

Umahi made the declaration after a closed-door meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday January 11, 2022.

Speaking with State House Correspondents on Tuesday after the meeting, Umahi said he had spoken to President Buhari about his intention to seek the highest office.

Dave Umahi added that he intends to bring a business-like spirit into governance and replicate his progressive efforts in Ebonyi at national level.

Umahi who defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in November 2020 said he is unfazed by Tinubu’s presence, saying that the contest is not about might.
