Sam Onuigbo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressive Party (APC).
AllNews understands that Onuigbo's defection makes it the fourth defection to the ruling APC since Tuesday, December, 15.
In his defection letter read by the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday, Onuigbo cited division and crisis in his local government chapter of the PDP.
AllNews recalls that on Tuesday, Datti Yako from Kano State and Danjuma Shittu from Taraba State also defected to the APC.
Both based their reasons for dumping their political parties on leadership crises, while Yako left PDP, Shittu left the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). Yako particularly cited incessant leadership crises in the PDP at the Kano State chapter.
Also on Wednesday, Tajudeen Adefiyose, a member of the House of Representative from Ondo State defected from Social Democratic Party (SDP) to join the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Adefisoye said in his letter that he dumped his party because of the irreconcilable leadership crisis within his party.
