Police in Katsina say its personnel have successfully arrested a notorious bandit, 30-year-old Adamu Abdulrahman of Cidawaki village in Safana Local Government Area of the state.

The police command spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, disclosed the stride in a statement on Tuesday in Katsina.

He noted that credible intelligence played a crucial role in the successful arrest, adding that the bandit leader is a member of a notorious syndicate of terrorists under the leadership of one Lawal Dantarugu, hibernating in the forest.

Isah said that Abdulrahman confessed to have participated in several attacks on communities in Safana and Dutsinma local government areas of the state, kidnapped people and rustled animals.

In the statement quoted by NAN, the spokesman said that the suspect also mentioned names of eight of his accomplices.
