Another Owo Church Massacre Victim Dies In Hospital

Another victim of the Owo church massacre has died while receiving treatment in a hospital.

The announcement of the victim's death was made by the Ondo State Government in Akure.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Iwo was attacked by gunmen during thanksgiving service. 

No fewer than 40 worshippers were killed by some yet-to-be-arrested terrorists.

The recent death brings the total number of casualties to 41.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, speaking for the state government, revealed that the victim gave up the ghost while receiving treatment in the hospital.

"One more death has been recorded as a result of the June 5 (2022) terror attack on St Francis Catholic Church, Owo.

"The number of fatalities is now 41 while 17 persons were still being hospitalised."

The Commissioner while restating the state government's commitment to having a memorial in honour of the victims prayed for a speedy recovery of others still receiving treatment in the hospital.
