Another Three-Storey Building Collapses In Lagos

A three-storey building has collapsed in the Mushin axis of Lagos State.

According to reports, the building caved in on Friday on Sonuga Street, Palm Avenue, Mushin and the development was confirmed by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyinyolu.

“A building collapsed in Mushin a few minutes ago. The rescue operation is ongoing", he disclosed to Punch.

As of the time of filing this report, it had not been ascertained if anyone was trapped under the rubble.

However, men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Rescue and Fire Service had arrived at the scene.

The spate of building collapses in the country has become a source of concern among citizens, with a previous case in Oniru, Lagos leading to the resignation of Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako.

At least four persons had lost their lives in the aforementioned tragedy.
