Ansaru's Influence In Kaduna, Failure Of Government— Security Expert

Kaduna State may be more in the news for all wrong reasons yet again as an armed group has boldly prohibited all forms of political rallies in Birnin Gwari local government of the state.

Speaking with AllNews Nigeria on Monday, Dr Yahuza Getso, a Security, Intelligence and Investigation Expert said this shows a clear failure of the Nigerian government to nip any security challenge in the board.

He said it is as terrifying as it sounds that an armed group can and did ban all political activities in any of the nation's territory, adding that the recent order by Ansaru is forming a government within a government in a democratic setting.

Dr. Getso lamented that reports reaching him said a DPO posted to Birnin Gwari on Monday has been kidnapped, blaming insiders for leaking the story, and other security moves of the government to the group.

Kaduna State or the police is yet to make comments on the kidnap of the DPO posted to the local government.

On ways to tackle the problem, Dr. Getso said the group's whereabouts are known to everyone, and locating them should be easy.

He however cited shortage of trained security personnel, inferior arms compared to the group's, corruption and bribery, as well as failure to punish those found guiltry of crimes in the country as great hindrances to winning the war.

The security expert advised the government to quickly tackle the group to prevent a repeat of extreme terror activities in the country.

Dr. Getso revealed that some of the group's members are spread across Birnin Gwari, Tegina, Kagara, Dandume and some parts of Zaria local government areas of Kaduna State,
