APC congratulates Tinubu, says President leading Nigeria to

The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday congratulated President Bola Tinubu for clocking one year in office.

APC said it was convinced Nigeria has a vibrant future owing to the number of positive reforms put in place by the current administration.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, disclosed this in a congratulatory message issued in Abuja titled ‘First anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration – Leading Nigeria into a great and vibrant future.’

Nigerians have spent the past year agonising over the rising cost of food items hyperinflation, joblessness, and naira depreciation despite the claim of an appreciable improvement in the exchange rate.

The APC spokesman stated that in the face of the prevalent deep-seated and existential challenges confronting the nation before his inauguration, Tinubu stepped up with courage to tackle them right from the roots.

He said, “Announcing the termination of the fuel subsidy regime in his inaugural speech, the president dealt a decisive blow against what was probably the most potent threat to Nigeria’s economic survival. In the same intrepid manner, he approved the harmonisation of existing multiple foreign exchange regimes that had become a gaping drain to economic growth and development.

“This was followed up with a slew of other critical reforms, including the Oyelede Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy Reform; reconstituting the leadership of the Federal Inland Revenue Service; directing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to remit its dollar earnings to the Central Bank of Nigeria, waging a beneficial war against crude oil theft and improving on the country’s oil exports and earnings.

“This President of progress has also left an incredible first-year footprint on high-grade infrastructure delivery not only in Abuja but around the country.

“He has been clear that some of the policies implemented by his administration will not be without pain, especially for the poorest and most vulnerable citizens of our country. The President and our party remain keenly aware and attentive to these difficulties.

“The pain of today will not be in vain but shall inure as a gain for tomorrow’s Nigeria. The APC salutes the patriotism and resilience of Nigerians. We thank you for your continued patience with, and support of, this administration. We are confident that better days are very near.”
