APC Holds Maiden Women National Conference

The All Progressive Congress(APC) on Tuesday held its Maiden National Women Conference in Abuja.

The two days event with the theme 'One Voice Women Uniting for Progress' opened at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The conference is set to instill gender mainstreaming in the party implementation process at all levels, inclusiveness, and equal representation in politics, business and governance. 

It is also to mobilize progressive women to position themselves for political offices, to educate, enlighten, and empower women for maximum utilization of skills through digital learning platforms.  

In their separate remarks, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and his counterparts at the occasion acknowledged the significant role of women and assured them of their continued support.  

They reminded women of the need to support progressive minded people even as the 2023 general elections draw closer so as to ensure that the APC remains in power. 

Other Governors at the event were the Yobe State Governor and Chairman, Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee(CECPC), Mai Mala Buni, Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Kebbi State and Chairman, APC Governors Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. 

First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Aisha Buhari, wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, Vice President of Liberia, Chief Dr Jewel Taylor, former governors and lawmakers also attended the event.
