APC Is My Home, I Didn't Defect — Kola Balogun

APC Is My Home, I Didn't Defect — Kola Balogun

Kola Balogun, the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, has revealed that his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was homecoming.

He made this known in Ibadan during a reception to receive him into the Oyo APC fold on Tuesday.

The defection followed weeks of silent war and speculations following the decision of the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to deny the senator a return ticket to the Senate for a second term on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Balogun who accused Makinde of serving his personal interest and not the interest of the masses stated that there are security breaches across the state.

“I didn’t defect, I’m coming back home. They are serving their personal interest and not the interest of the masses. There are security breaches across the state."

The Oyo APC Chairman, Isaac Omodewu, while welcoming Senator Balogun stated that with his defection, the APC is waxing stronger and better on a daily basis.

”Yes we have misunderstandings within ourselves in APC but we have resolved all the issues and there is no more crisis.

"We are united and by the grace of God, we are returning to Agodi Government House in 2023.

“I have tried. We now have the three Senators in Oyo state in our fold. On behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leadership of the party, I welcome Senator Balogun into APC,” Omodewu said.
