APC, PDP In War Of Words As Thugs Attack Campaign Office, Sp

The campaign office of Remi Omowaiye, the immediate past Commissioner of Works and Transport in Osun located in Ilesa was reportedly attacked by some miscreants in the earlier hours of Sunday.

Reports have it that there were signs of gunshots at different places within the premises of the office which serves as the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign office as the main door, glass windows, billboards and flags of the All Progressives Congress (APC) among other items were seriously damaged.

Addressing journalists shortly after his on-the-spot inspection of the scene, the former Commissioner described the attack as diabolic and inhumane.

He added that it is unfortunate that such ugly incidence had been launched twice on his person and property within two weeks.

Omowaiye decried the incessant attacks on members of the APC since the inception of the PDP-led government in the State.

Another set of thugs, allegedly led by one Sunday Amure, a suspected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thug also attacked Obisesan Olasunkanmi, the Chief of Staff to Osun State Speaker, Timothy Owoeye.

Obisesan was attacked at Ifofin, in Ilesa, on Sunday afternoon and was rushed to Wesley Hospital, Ilesa, following the injury he sustained from the attack.

Speaking with AllNews Nigeria, he revealed that he received five stitiches to his body from the hospital.

Responding to the Incidents, a PDP member in Ilesa, Sunday Bisi debunked the allegations that the thugs were from the PDP. 

Nisi who explained that the PDP as the ruling Party in the state would not engage in any nefarious act that would truncate the peace of the State added that it does not harbour the act of thuggery. 

The caretaker chairman of the Osun PDP, Akindele Adekunle asked the APC not to drag them into the problems with Asiri Eniba, a known political thug in the state often associated with the APC.

Replying through a statement, the acting APC chairman in the state, Tajudeen Lawal accused the PDP of being arrogant and not sympathetic.

The Osun PDP Media Director, Olabamiji Oladele speaking with this medium also clarified that PDP is not a party of thugs.

Oladele stated that there were more concerned with winning the 2023 0residntiak and state House of Assembly elections.

While dismissing Omowaiye's allegation of attempted assassination as cheap, he called on the Osun State Police Command to get to the root of the matter.

In a chat with AllNews Nigeria, Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command revealed that the police was aware of the development.

Opalola also stated that investigations has since commenced to unravel the truth behind the matter.
