APC's Muhammed Adamu Wins Jigawa By-Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammed Adamu, has been announced the winner of the Kafinhausa State Constituency by-election in Jigawa State on Saturday.

Adamu polled 14,924 votes to defeat other candidates in the election.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the poll took place in 120 polling units in the state constituency.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Ahmed Kutama, declared the results at a collation centre in Kafinhausa local government area.

The returning officer maintained that the APC candidate beat his closest rival, Garba Muhammed Yambale, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who had 8,612 votes.

Adamu was declared the winner by the electoral officer after he secured the highest number of votes

The third contestant was Usman Isyako of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who secured 72 voted.
